Welcome to Santa Maria High School Counseling

Mission

The mission of the Santa Maria High School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive, data-driven program through collaboration and partnership with students, parents, staff, and community members. By working as professional ethical change agents, we advocate challenging learning experiences for all students and establishing high expectations by promoting literacy, high-order thinking, personal accountability, and social responsibility. The Santa Maria High School Counseling Program promotes social justice, equity, and access through a multi-tiered system of support. As a result, students will become culturally aware, productive citizens who achieve college/career success.

Vision

Every student at Santa Maria High School is a lifelong learner who determines their own success and perseveres in college, career, and life. They have the skills to navigate a diverse, ever-changing global society while demonstrating social responsibility and cultural awareness.
